Program Overview

The purpose of the Athletic Training graduate program at Radford University is to provide students with the opportunity to earn a graduate degree in athletic training, which will allows students to sit for the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainer's (BOC) examination. Athletic trainers are recognized by the American Medical Association as allied health care professionals, and they are involved in the treatment of people of all ages. They prevent, assess, treat and provide rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries. In addition, they are often first to provide immediate care and treatment of injury. Athletic trainers work under the supervision of physicians to provide health care for clients in multiple settings including high schools, universities, hospitals, rehabilitation clinics and physician offices.
