The athletic training program at Stony Brook University is housed in the School of Health Professions within Stony Brook Medicine and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). Students who complete the requirements for the Master of Science degree in the Athletic Training program will be eligible to take the Board of Certification (BOC) Exam.
Application A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university Official transcripts. GPA 3.0 out of (4.0 scale) Personal Statement 50 hours of volunteer clinical experience observing an athletic trainer Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Two reference letters: One must be from an Athletic Trainer who has supervised applicant's athletic training clinical experience and can attest to the applicant's potential as an athletic training student Interview GRE not required TOEFL iBT: 80 or IELTS 6.5 overall with no sub-score below 6.0.
