Program Overview

The School Counseling emphasis specialization focuses on the developmental model of school counseling. School counseling students take the core-counseling curriculum. In addition, students in school counseling have curricular specialty courses in the foundation of school counseling and counseling and guidance program development. The emphasis specialization strives to provide the necessary self-awareness, knowledge, and skills to effectively deliver and develop a comprehensive school counseling program. Completion of the emphasis specialization qualifies students for licensure as a school counselor in Nevada.
