Program Overview

To achieve long-term change in the health and quality of life of populations, the SBS Program will; advance and disseminate knowledge in the social and behavioral sciences as applied to public health; train highly competent researchers in the social and behavioral sciences as applied to public health; train able and effective public health practitioners in the social and behavioral sciences; train students to work with communities to use research in the development and implementation of social and behavioral science-based policy and program models, planning and practice tools, and communication materials and methods; and train students to advocate for social and behavioral science policy alternatives that promote effective clinical and public health practice. The SBS Program seeks to impact the most broadly defined set of communities - from those that are international to those in which we live and work, each made up of diverse populations.
