The Master of Science in Medical Biotechnology Program is a two-year lab/research-based program training you to be technically competent and ready to work in industry/academia or to use as a stepping stone to PhD, MD, and DDS degree program. The MBT program is located in Rockford, Illinois, at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford. We do not offer online classes at this time and the program is only administered at the Rockford campus. We work hard to make classes available for those who are working or commuting by offering most of our core classes in the evenings and offering electives on Saturdays.
Application A baccalaureate degree or its equivalent in a science- or engineering-related field from an accredited college or university is required, except in special cases. Prior academic work should include college mathematics; general biology and biochemistry; general and organic chemistry; or the equivalent engineering courses. Official yearly or semester wise mark sheets for each examination attempt, including failed or repeated exams. Official university-issued certification of degree and date awarded. GPA 3.0 out of (4.0 scale) Personal Statement 3 Letters of recommendation TOEFL iBT: 80 (Listening 17, Writing 21, Reading 19, Speaking 20) OR IELTS 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in each section
