Program Overview

The Master of Science in Nursing Program is designed for the baccalaureate-prepared registered nurse (R.N.) who wishes to pursue a graduate degree with eligibility for specialty certification as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP). In addition, a post-master's certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) is available.The program focuses on the acquisition of knowledge and skills that enable the nurse practitioner to assess, diagnose, and manage health problems of the client. Health promotion and disease prevention are emphasized as students assess and develop the wellness potential of individuals, families and communities.
