Program Overview

The M.P.H. degree in Health Policy offered by the Department of Health Policy, Management, and Leadership is designed for students with a keen interest in using population-based approaches to understand and improve the health status of large groups within society. The degree is focused on examining social and political systems that influence the health status of populations and then learning how to influence and/or design, implement and manage broad, system-level instruments to improve population health outcomes. These instruments might include programs in public health agencies, not-for-profit organizations or healthcare provider setting, or policies at the local, state, national or international government levels.
