Program Overview

Industrial Mathematics is a branch of mathematics that is concerned with developing mathematical methods and applying them to engineering, science, society, and industry. This program is aimed at developing multidisciplinary students who have up-to-date knowledge in their fields, but who also understand the linkage between mathematics and business. This program puts an emphasis on mathematical modeling, computational techniques, and statistical reasoning. Students will develop skills in abstraction, analysis of structure and logical thinking. They will also develop expertise in formulating and solving problems. This concentration provides the knowledge of modeling and numerical techniques fundamental to pursuing a career in industry. Students in this concentration will also study quantative finance, analytics, as well as risk management.
