It provides every MUP student with the opportunity to develop a specialty in one or more areas of practice such as Transportation Planning, Sustainable Urbanism, Hazards Mitigation, Land Use, Environmental Planning, Housing, Economic Development, and Health Systems. Recognizing that urban planning is a combination of both art and science, the program builds students' knowledge and competencies through applied course work and field experience, as well as the latest findings from applicable research.
