We are committed to the careful teaching and application of God’s inerrant Word in various ministries. That is why we have designed our MA in Biblical Studies to help students excel in interpreting and communicating the biblical text. Whether you’re a pastor looking for graduate training, on the way to an MDiv, or just recently following the call to ministry, this degree will provide you with the essential foundation for preaching or teaching in ministry.
There are no Greek or Hebrew language requirements, and each course is taught by a professor committed to your success not only in the classroom but also in ministry. This is a flexible degree program for students who desire advanced education in the theology of the Bible with a goal of strengthening the student’s ability to carefully exegete and teach the text. The program includes 23 hours of biblical introduction and theological studies, 5 hours of hermeneutics and sermon/lesson preparation, and 6 hours of biblical counseling.
• Application • A U.S. bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent from a college or university of recognized standing • Official Transcripts • TOEFL iBT score of 79 with minimum section scores of 19; or an IELTS score of 6.5 with minimum section scores of 6.5Church leader recommendation: This should be someone on the staff of your current church – a pastor, assistant pastor, youth pastor, ministry leader (elder, deacon, Sunday school teacher, outreach director, etc.)Second recommendation: If you have been enrolled with another school within the past twelve months, you may use a school official such as a professor, advisor, or dean as a recommendation. Or, you may use another church leader within the church or an employer, work manager, or supervisor where you are currently employedPlease keep in mind the following as you consider who will be your recommender: The recommender should have known you for a minimum of six months. They should have had regular, personal contact with you over the past six months, meaning that they have seen you regularly in person.
