Program Overview

Using gender as a paradigm for thinking about law, this course examines sex-based discrimination from a variety of perspectives in substantive areas of law that influence the lives of women and men. It covers issues of formal equality in employment, equal opportunity in education, substantive equality through affirmative action and pay equity, pregnancy, parenting, sexual orientation, sexual harassment, family law, domestic violence, pornography, prostitution, rape, and reproductive choice among others. (3 credits).
