Program Overview

This second course in oil & gas law will pursue in-depth treatment of selected important topics, building on the introductory course in Oil & Gas law, which is a required pre-requisite. The course will be organized principally around the upstream oil & gas purchase and sale transaction. The course will use the oil & gas purchase and sale agreement as a window to in-depth treatment of several important topics, such as: oil and gas lease provisions, disputes, and maintenance, preferential rights and consents to transfer; governmental regulations; environmental and safety issues, indemnity provisions; and others. The course will also address ethics and professionalism.
