Program Overview

The M.S. in Atmospheric Science is designed to be either a terminal degree or a stepping-stone to the Ph.D. Students can also pursue a secondary-school teaching sequence as part of the M.S. degree. These degrees prepare students to carry on scholarly research and to communicate the results concisely and accurately to the scientific community and the general public. Graduates from this program have gone into senior professional positions in the atmospheric and environmental sciences at academic institutions and in industry, government, or other agencies.
