PhD Biochemistry

The PhD program in Biochemistry is designed to train you to be a successful in a world where traditional biochemistry is increasingly connected to traditional chemical and other scientific disciplines. Biochemists continue to contribute to progress in traditional biochemical structure, function and mechanism, but also work increasingly on larger societal problems that range from disease, to energy, biosensors and bioengineering. Students can work on focused projects in contemporary biochemistry, but most will challenge themselves by working on problems that extend the boundaries of traditional biochemistry. The biochemistry PhD program is designed to enable students to take on the responsibility of leadership in all aspects of contemporary molecular science.
