Acceptance as a graduate student by the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, A bachelor s degree with a major in chemistry or biochemistry or one of the biological sciences. Students with majors in other areas may be considered for admission at the discretion of the Graduate Advisor.
Have completed a four-year college course of study and hold an acceptable baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by a regional accrediting association, or have completed equivalent academic preparation as determined by appropriate campus authorities; be in good academic standing at the last college or university attended; and have attained an acceptable grade-point average in any of the following ways: (a) hold an advanced degree; (b) hold a baccalaureate degree with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 (A = 4.0); (c) hold a baccalaureate degree with a GPA of at least 2.5 in the last 60 semester (90 quarter) units attempted. Lower-division courses or courses taken in extension (except in adjunct enrollment at CSULB in the upper-division level) after obtaining the baccalaureate degree will be excluded from the calculation.Analytical ChemistChemical EngineerChemistry TeacherForensic ScientistGeochemist
