The Department of Physics offers courses and research experience leading to the master of arts, master of science, and doctor of philosophy degrees. Advanced-degree candidates may pursue thesis research in experimental, computational, or theoretical condensed matter physics, optical physics, biophysics, high energy physics, astrophysics, and physics education research. Special programs are available for students who are preparing for careers in undergraduate teaching. Thesis and nonthesis programs are offered leading to the M.S. and M.A. degrees.
