Master's-level study in science education prepares adolescence-level teachers in biology, chemistry, earth science, and physics. This program will prepare students for New York State Initial Certification, Initial/Professional (Initial Certification combined with a Master's degree; Grades 5 - 12): This includes preparation for Initial Certification, and a Master's degree. Professional (Master's degree; Grades 7 - 12 or Grades 5 - 12): This degree in combination with other New York State requirements will help teachers obtain professional certification.
