Program Overview

The Master of Arts degree (MA) program in speech-language pathology is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). It is designed to provide the academic and practicum experiences that will develop clinical competence in the management of speech, hearing, and language disorders. The academic program consists of a minimum of 36 semester hours, based on the student s needs and the requirements of the profession. The program offers experiences that will enable the student to meet the academic and practicum requirements for certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensure by the South Carolina Board of Examiners in Speech Pathology and Audiology.
