Program Overview

The MA program in Economics began in 1972, predating the creation of the Graduate School Newark by 3 full years. As such, it is one of the oldest and most successful graduate programs at Rutgers-Newark. The program accepts both full-time and part-time graduate students. Well-qualified full-time students may be able to complete the degree requirements within three semesters. Most part-time students should expect to take two or three years. We strongly suggest that part-time students take no more than two classes per semester.
