The Mission is to train students from diverse backgrounds to be competent and ethical counselors who integrate a science-informed perspective with a strength-based approach to practice, to develop counselors who embrace the multicultural and social justice counseling competencies with diverse populations across a wide variety of settings, and to use psychological science as the foundation for training competent counseling practitioners who are eligible for state licensure. This graduate counseling psychology program focuses on the professional, intellectual, and personal growth of students, emphasizing human-centered values as well as evidence-informed treatment approaches.
