Master of Urban Planning

2 Years On Campus Masters Program

University of Washington

Program Overview

The Master of Urban Planning (MUP) is the usual educational credential for professional planning practice. It is normally a two-year, or six-quarter program, for a minimum of 72 credits. Our fully accredited MUP curriculum covers planning history and theory; methods; technical skills and knowledge; and in our popular studio courses, the opportunity to apply skills to a real-world planning issue in a community. Students choose one of five areas in which to specialize, or may earn a concurrent degree in another program on campus while enrolled in the MUP program.
