The Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Directing degree is designed to train theatre directors to become working artists in professional and/or academic theatre. The MFA in Directing is a terminal degree providing advanced specialized training in the art and craft of directing. The MFA in Directing program is competitive, accepting only two students every other year, ensuring that classes are small and training is personal. Students take a core of courses in directing, theatre history, dramatic theory and criticism, dramatic literature, design, and collaboration
