MFA Graduate Film

3 Years On Campus Masters Program

New York University

Program Overview

The Graduate Film program is an intensive three-year conservatory in the Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film and Television that trains students in the art of cinematic storytelling. They focus on helping writer/directors develop a narrative voice and the technical virtuosity to express that voice in cinema. Students learn by doing, in the classroom and on set. They write, direct, and produce multiple films and exercises, shooting and crewing on each other's projects. Our students transition into the professional world with a reel of short films that showcase their talent, a feature film script, and a range of highly sought technical skills.
