Program Overview

This provides them with an environment where they can explore new ideas at the cutting edge of scientific knowledge and/or develop solutions to real-world problems, often in in collaboration with industry partners. In addition, the skillset developed during postgraduate research, including the ability to work in independently as well as in teams to solve complex problems, the ability to critically assess large volumes of information and proven communication skills, are highly desired by employers. The School of Materials Science and Engineering has one of the largest and most active programs in postgraduate research in Australia. The School s staff normally lead UNSW in research grant success, journal publication rates, and postgraduate supervision/graduation.

Additional Information & Requirements

An appropriate degree of Bachelor with Honours from the University of New South Wales or a qualification considered equivalent from another university or tertiary institution at a level acceptable to the Research Committee of the appropriate Faculty, TOEFL ibT 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking), PTE of 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest), Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component, CAE 176 overall (min.169 in each subtest), CPE 180 overall (min.180 in each subtest), ANU College Access Program Successful completion with a minimum of 70% overall, Grade C+ or 70% in English
