Program Overview

The Doctoral degree programs within the School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences (BABS) provide the highest level of training in key areas of scientific research. UNSW has one of the strongest gatherings of world-class biotechnologists in Australia and has for decades been recognised for its internationally competitive advantage in this research area. Using the latest enabling technologies in bioanalytical chemistry, genomics, imaging, and informatics, BABS researchers investigate globally relevant biotechnology areas in the environmental and medical sector.

Additional Information & Requirements

An appropriate degree of Bachelor with Honours from the University of New South Wales or a qualification considered equivalent from another university or tertiary institution at a level acceptable to the Research Committee of the appropriate Faculty, TOEFL ibT 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking), PTE of 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest), Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component, CAE 176 overall (min.169 in each subtest), CPE 180 overall (min.180 in each subtest), ANU College Access Program Successful completion with a minimum of 70% overall, Grade C+ or 70% in English
