Would you like to make your own contribution to research in mathematics or statistics The PhD degree provides training in research up to the level necessary for initiating and carrying out unsupervised original research. PhD students carry out research on an approved topic, under the supervision of a member of staff of the School of Mathematics and Statistics. When the research is complete, the student s thesis is submitted to international experts for examination.

Additional Information & Requirements

An appropriate degree of Bachelor with Honours from the University of New South Wales or a qualification considered equivalent from another university or tertiary institution at a level acceptable to the Research Committee of the appropriate Faculty, TOEFL ibT 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking), PTE of 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest), Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component, CAE 176 overall (min.169 in each subtest), CPE 180 overall (min.180 in each subtest), ANU College Access Program Successful completion with a minimum of 70% overall, Grade C+ or 70% in English
