Program Overview

The Art History program offers both the MA and PhD degree. Both programs emphasize the research, writing and teaching necessary to pursue a career in academia or museum work. The faculty supervise students in the fields of Ancient, Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque, and Modern and Contemporary art and architecture. The PhD program is designed to prepare History of Art students for college and university teaching, museum curatorships, and other research positions.
