The PhD program is offered in both Geology and Geophysics, and involves courses, a comprehensive exam, and a thesis. The PhD can be completed in four years of full-time study. The Province of Newfoundland and Labrador is an excellent natural laboratory in which to study Earth Sciences and many of our courses have field-based components.

The PhD program is offered in both Geology and Geophysics, and involves courses, a comprehensive exam, and a thesis. The PhD can be completed in four years of full-time study. IELTS: A minimum overall band score of 6.5, with at least a band 6 in reading and writing. TOEFL: A minimum score of 550 on the paper-based test, or 79 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT) with a minimum score of 20 in reading and writing, and not less than 17 in listening and speaking.
