Program Overview

The PhD program involves courses, a comprehensive exam, and a thesis, and can be completed in four years of full-time study. These programs are based upon focal areas of health research within the Faculty and are dependent upon a critical mass of actively engaged faculty researchers in these areas. Each area of concentration has a program coordinator chair or director, and includes a core of graduate courses appropriate to the area of health research and mechanisms for formal and informal exchange of research ideas (journal clubs, seminar series, visiting speakers program).

Additional Information & Requirements

Master s degree in an appropriate area of study. IELTS: A minimum overall band score of 6.5, with at least a band 6 in reading and writing. TOEFL: A minimum score of 550 on the paper-based test, or 79 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT) with a minimum score of 20 in reading and writing, and not less than 17 in listening and speaking.
