Program Overview

Graduate students work closely with faculty on research projects, learning how to design, conduct, analyze experiments. Students will also learn to present their work, both in written and oral formats. One particular strength of our department is behavioural neuroscience which focuses on the relationship between brain and behavior. Research topics in our department are diverse, including animal social behavior, learning and memory, decision making, addiction, developmental plasticity (including the effects of brain injury, stress and drugs on brain development), neural coding, motor control, comparative neuroanatomy, comparative behavioural analysis, attention, and robotics.

Additional Information & Requirements

Successful completion of a master s degree at a recognized institution where the language of instruction is English. Successful completion of a bachelor s degree at a recognized institution where the language of instruction is English. Successful completion of the Advanced Level of the University of Lethbridge English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), taken within the last two years, with minimum scores of: 580 on the paper-based TOEFL* and 5.0 on the Test of Written English (TWE); or 86 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT), Letter of reference, Curriculum Vitae (C.V.), Letter of Intent, Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test, taken within the last two years, with a minimum overall score of 6.5, and a minimum of 6.0 in each band.
