The School of Mathematics and Statistics offers a PhD program that focuses on diverse areas including statistics, probability, discrete mathematics, applied mathematics, algebra and analysis, cryptography research for government, networks, coding theory and fluid dynamics. The School is a member of the Ottawa-Carleton Institute for Mathematics and Statistics (OCIMS), which offers one of the largest graduate programs in mathematics and statistics in Canada. Students can take courses and access research resources at both Carleton and the University of Ottawa.
