Program Overview

Research in this program focuses on the evolutionary processes responsible for shaping functionally organised behaviours in a wide variety of organisms. The research targets a range of different behaviours that address the critical life challenges facing these organisms, such as finding food and avoiding predators, attracting and selecting mates, rearing offspring, and negotiating extended networks of social relationships. The emphasis of the research is to examine the potential adaptive basis of different behaviour patterns and understand the underlying genetic, anatomical, physiological, and psychological mechanisms that guide them and their interactions with environmental processes.

Additional Information & Requirements

Successful completion of a master s degree at a recognized institution where the language of instruction is English. Successful completion of a bachelor s degree at a recognized institution where the language of instruction is English. Successful completion of the Advanced Level of the University of Lethbridge English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), taken within the last two years, with minimum scores of: 580 on the paper-based TOEFL* and 5.0 on the Test of Written English (TWE); or 86 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT), Letter of reference, Curriculum Vitae (C.V.), Letter of Intent, Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test, taken within the last two years, with a minimum overall score of 6.5, and a minimum of 6.0 in each band.
