The Cultural, Social, and Political Thought major in the Ph.D. program is interdisciplinary in nature and is based on a cohort learning model that fosters an environment of interdisciplinary engagement and exchange, research, peer mentoring, collaboration among a small group of students, within a team-based learning experience. The overall academic aims of the program are to emphasize social, cultural, and political thought and to inculcate the intellectual and practical tools needed to work successfully with community partners and agencies to facilitate social change.

Additional Information & Requirements

Successful completion of a master s degree at a recognized institution where the language of instruction is English. Successful completion of a bachelor s degree at a recognized institution where the language of instruction is English. Successful completion of the Advanced Level of the University of Lethbridge English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), taken within the last two years, with minimum scores of: 580 on the paper-based TOEFL* and 5.0 on the Test of Written English (TWE); or 86 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT), Letter of reference, Curriculum Vitae (C.V.), Letter of Intent, Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test, taken within the last two years, with a minimum overall score of 6.5, and a minimum of 6.0 in each band.
