Program Overview

The Department of Information Management of Peking University, formerly the Department of Library Science, was founded in 1947. Since the middle of the twentieth century, Wang Zhongmin, Zhao Wanli, Yu Guangyuan, Fu Zhenlun, Wang Liyuan, Liu Guoxuan and a number of other famous scholars have taught or taught in the department, laying the foundation for the expansion of the discipline. In the 1950s and 1960s, in addition to enrolling undergraduates, the Department also enrolled graduate students and correspondence students, for the cause of China's libraries to train a large number of high-level talent and business backbone. Since the 1980s, the subject major has been gradually expanded, teaching methods have become more and more modern, and teaching content has been constantly updated and enriched.
