The general objective of the doctoral programme is to provide doctoral candidates with a profound familiarity with their field and its social significance, an in-depth understanding of the field s nature, key theories, concepts and research methods, the relation between theory and practice, and the practical applicability of the knowledge attained, as well as the ability to contribute to scientific knowledge.
