Program Overview

The Doctoral Programme in Population Health (DocPop) is multidisciplinary and includes a variety of scientific and methodological approaches. The research focuses on the causes and consequences of population health and wellbeing. The Programme combines a broad scope of relevant fields of health and medical sciences including public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, population genetics and genetic epidemiology, occupational health, general practice and primary health care, health services research, forensic medicine, public health nutrition, substance use disorders, geriatrics, sociology, social psychology and social pharmacy. The research within the Programme aims at health promotion and disease prevention at the population level. The programme offers high quality doctoral level education and produces competitive research specialists and experts, who, after completing their doctoral training, are able to meet the needs of working life
