The chief aim of the Doctoral Program in Biological Sciences is to train good scientists and professionals who have research ability and scholarship to achieve creative study. The core of the Biological Sciences Doctoral Program is basic biology.

Persons who have graduated from a foreign country's university located in Japan (after an 18-year education period at the time of graduation) which is recognized by the Japanese Minister of Education as a foreign country's educational facility. Those who have obtained a Master's Degree, and those who are expected to complete their Master's Degree by March of the year in which they intend to enter the program are eligible to apply.
