Program Overview

The Department of Nursing, National Taiwan University School of Medicine, established in 1956, is the first university nursing department in China. In the autumn of 1984, a master's degree program of the Institute of Nursing was established. In 1997, the first doctoral class of the Institute of Nursing was established. The department's teaching tenet is based on the application of theoretical knowledge to strengthen students' thinking and problem-solving skills, so that graduates can appreciate and be qualified for nursing professional work. The Master's program of the Institute focuses on the exploration and application of academic theories in the field of specialties to foster clinical specialist care and leadership. The PhD program of the Institute aims to nurture high-quality nursing leaders who can expand the theory, research and practical skills of nursing, and to develop nursing talents with cross-professional and international leadership potential.
