All DMA programs consist of performance requirements (lessons, two solo recitals, one lecture recital and one chamber recital), and coursework in the following areas: performance preparation, historical perspective, and a cognate field. Further requirements: comprehensive written and oral examinaitons in the major area, and one of the following capstones: scholarly document, doctoral project or advanced coursework with accompanying documents.
