The department offers traditional PhD and MS degrees and supports approximately thirty-five graduate students each year, mostly on research assistantships. Graduate students have the opportunity to study and perform research on a variety of important and emerging areas of materials science. After successfully completing the graduate degree, students who are interested in further pursing this field can work toward attaining the PhD.
