The PH.D in Mechanical Engineering goal for Students is to be a research-intensive, multidisciplinary program. Finally Students can do research in the following areas, which are Mechanics and design, with emphasis on solid mechanics/stress analysis, vibrations and tribology, Thermofluids, with emphasis on heat transfer, lubrication, materials processing and environmental/biological transport phenomena, Materials, with emphasis on microstructural/property relationships and electronic packaging materials and Computational mechanics, with emphasis on asymptotic methods and hybrid analytical/computational methods
