Program Overview

Students who are enrolled in the Post Graduate program would study developing knowledge for the discipline of nursing that will impact the health of vulnerable people or populations in four ways. First way is designing and conducting independent research that will impact the health of vulnerable people/populations. The second way is developing, testing and refining theories as a basis for nursing science. The third way is analyzing patterns of health among vulnerable populations. Fourth way is Synthesizing research findings to provide leadership in health care. Also Appling teaching/learning principles in nursing education at the individual, course and program level in two ways. First way is teaching nurses and advanced practitioners to improve the health status of vulnerable people/populations and second way is Synthesizing research findings to provide leadership in nursing education. Finally the goal of the program is to prepare nursescientists as teacher/scholars with an emphasis on knowledge development related to vulnerable populations
