Program Overview

The PhD in Nursing requires 57 semester hours. Up to 15 hours of credit may be transferred into the program. The Director of Graduate Study may waive up to 6 hours for successful completion of previous graduate work. The purpose of the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree program is to develop nurse scholars for careers in education, practice, and research.
