Program Overview

The doctor of pharmacy degree, also called the PharmD, is a professional degree that enables one to work as a pharmacist, interacting with patients and other health care practitioners about medications. It is not an undergraduate degree (such as a BS or BA). An undergraduate degree is not currently required as an admissions prerequisite. The PharmD program at the University at Buffalo is ranked among the top 25 programs in the United States and is the first of its kind available in the State University of New York (SUNY) system.
