Program Overview

Students studying the Post Graduate program in Mathematics will study three key areas. First is the Preliminary Examinations, where Students is expected to pass a written preliminary examination in analysis and a written preliminary examination in algebra. Second is the Tool Requirement, where Students demonstrating the ability to use a modern computer typesetting system or reading competency in two languages selected from French, German and Russian or a series of outside courses in another discipline and or a significant laboratory experience involving mathematics. Third and final is the Dissertation where Students make a significant contribution to the research literature in mathematics.
