A Juris Doctor degree from UConn School of Law qualifies graduates for outstanding careers across the broadest spectrum of opportunities in the legal profession. Students may pursue a J.D. through our day or evening divisions. All first-year students participate in the comprehensive Lawyering Process skills program and in an innovative moot court course. At least 86 credits hours are required for graduation. The day division is a full-time, three-year program. First-year law students may choose one elective course during the second semester, allowing them to pursue areas of interest before the second year. Their students learn by doing. All students are required to participate in at least one experiential learning opportunity while attending UConn School of Law. Because of Connecticut's liberal student practice rule, our students represent real clients in every state and federal court within the jurisdiction.
