Biochemistry research within the Department of Chemistry is directed towards understanding the molecular basis for cell function and disease. In pursuit of these aims, our researchers use state-of-the-art equipment available at FSU including instruments at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, the Institute of Molecular Biophysics, and the Biological Sciences Imaging Resource. The Biochemistry program offers graduate students diverse research training opportunities that span from molecular structure determination to drug design.
