Program Overview

Biochemistry is the branch of science that explores the chemical processes within and related to living organisms. It is a laboratory based science that brings together biology and chemistry. By using chemical knowledge and techniques, biochemists can understand and solve biological problems. The doctoral programs are administered through the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Students can apply to either the Chemistry or the Biochemistry doctoral program. Coursework is completed at the Graduate Center. Research is conducted on the City College campus, in the laboratory of the student's mentor.
