Phd Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology Health Care Emphasis

5 Years On Campus Phd Program

Pace University Westchester Campus

Program Overview

Graduates of the PhD in Clinical Psychology (Health Care emphasis) are trained to work as scientists, researchers, and practitioners in diverse environments such as medical settings (e.g., hospitals, academic medical centers), community settings, and public health settings. This program trains each graduate in health promotion, prevention of disease, assessment, and intervention. Graduates are trained under a scientist-practitioner model where science and practice inform each other and therefore are equipped to extend biopsychosocial understanding to wellness and illness, and mind-body relations; professors prepare each graduate to enter collaborative work with medical specialists in hospital and community health settings. This doctoral program highlights the importance of lifespan, diversity, and global perspectives.
