The Admiral Farragut Academy (AFA) is a private college-prep school in St. Petersburg, Florida. It was founded in 1933 on the banks of the Toms River in Pine Beach, New Jersey. The school was named after Admiral David Glasgow Farragut, the first American naval officer to rise to that rank.

The school has approximately 500 students in K-12th grade with a 3:1 ratio of boys to girls. It offers a boarding program for grades 8-12. The school is known for academic excellence, leadership, and social development.

The school offers a challenging academic curriculum, including Foreign languages, STEM, Marine Science, and Hands-on field trips.

The Admiral Farragut Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida has many academic achievements, including a 100% acceptance rate to college, university, and/or military academy, an average GPA of 3.52, and 17 students graduating with honors. The school also has 18 AP courses, and a28 dual enrollment credits, and students can take college courses while still in high school. The school has an A rating on Niche.com and is ranked #4 Best Private High Schools in the county. The class of 2023 earned more than $6,300,000 in scholarships, an average of over $128,000 per graduate. Here are some other academic achievements:- 1. 15 AP Scholars. 2. 10 AP Capstone Diploma candidates. 3. 12 sports starting in 6th grade to choose from. 4. Students can choose their curriculum to achieve their level of academic excellence. 5. Graduates earn over $5 million in academic, athletic, and military scholarships each year. 6. Graduates have matriculated to universities including Stanford, the Naval Academy, and UCLA. 7. High-caliber academics. 8. Large variety of extracurricular opportunities. 9. Award-winning visual and performing arts program. 10. More than 200 courses, including 28 AP courses, 42 honors courses, and seven foreign languages. Two of the 12 men who walked on the Moon graduated from Admiral Farragut: Rear Admiral Alan Shepard, USN, and Brigadier General Charles Duke, USAF. In all AFA has 18% held cadet leadership positions, Over $7.5 million in scholarships earned, 9 legacy alumni/families presented adiploma to the graduate, 3 earned military academy appointments, 4 are playing sports in college, 9,344 community service hours served, 4 Aviation certifications total, and 16 Scuba certifications total etc.

Physical Fitness Challenge: The academy placed first in AMCSUS Physical Fitness Challenge in 2018. 2. Sports: Tom Thompson, '68S, is the oldest kicker in NCAA football history. 3. Notable alumni: Rear Admiral Alan Shepard, USN, the first American in space, graduated in 1941 from the New Jersey campus and walked on the moon in 1971. 4. Other notable alumni: Marreese Speights, '05, has played basketball for the Philadelphia 76ers, Memphis Grizzlies, Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, and Orlando Magic. Kurt Knutsson: Journalist and actor who contributes to Fox and Friends as the "CyberGuy". 5. Chef Spike Mendelsohn: Washington, D.C.-based chef and restaurateur who finished fifth on Top Chef. 6. William Colepaugh: Defected by the Nazis during World War II and then returned to spy for Germany. 7.
